Volunteer Opportunities

Many volunteer opportunities are available during the school year. For many of the events PTO puts on, volunteers are needed to help setup, run the event and clean up. There is a signup link on the PTO page.

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers must attend a Virtus training class and complete a background check prior to being able to volunteer in the school.

Background checks must be paid for by the volunteer, but will be reimbursed by the school office. Please see the school secretary for the reimbursement forms. (Do not go to the church office to file these)

Should you have any questions about volunteering, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Below are some opportunities to help out at the school:

Room Parent

  • Plan class parties: 4-5 parties a year. Snacks, crafts and games are typically what each class does. Parents of the students will also donate their time and/or supplies for the party.

  • Cultivate Ladies Luncheon Basket: every year for the Ladies Luncheon, each grade is responsible for putting together a themed basket to auction off. You’ll work with other room parents to come up with a theme and fill the basket.

Lunchroom Helper

  • Help to prepare the lunch room for students. This includes wiping down tables and chairs, sweeping the floor and getting trays ready for serving. During the lunch period, assisting the students with opening containers and packages is often required (just the little ones).

*Lunchroom helpers are offered compensation. For more information or if you’d like to help, contact us.

The Catholic Church, the Diocese of Cleveland and All Saints School hold the protection of children as one of their highest priorities.

To this end, the Diocese of Cleveland adopted a Policy for the Safety of Children in Matters of Sexual Abuse in 2003 and updated it in 2016. This policy requires that education and training in the recognition and prevention of sexual abuse towards minor children be given to all Diocesan employees and to all volunteers who come in regular contact with children. This program is titled VIRTUS.

St. John Vianney Church and All Saints School fully support and participate in this program.
